Finally it was time again for an exchange to the far away Singapore. A group of nine students and two teachers started their 3 weeks journey in Frankfurt on the 17th August. After a 12 hours flight they finally landed on Singapore airport. They received a warm welcome from the students and teachers of the Yishun Junior College, the Singaporean exchange school of the Christophorus-Gymnasium. Their friendly host families helped the German students to settle in as easily as possible. A diverse and interesting program was planned for the following days. On the one hand the students spent a lot of time in the Yishun Junior College and with their exchange partners, so they learned about the daily life in Singapore. On the other hand they did a lot of sightseeing. They visited famous buildings and historical quarters like Chinatown and Little India and German institutions like the German European School Singapore, the Goethe Institute and the German Embassy. Although the students had some problems with the unfamiliar climate and with some regulations which seemed strange from the perspective of Europeans they spent a wonderful time in a great city with its really nice citizens. After about a week in Singapore the group went on an exciting trip to the Malaysian rainforest and from there to Pulau Sibu, a beautiful island where they all had fun at different activities like swimming and snorkelling. Then it was time to go back to Singapore and say goodbye to all friends there before the plane to Germany left from Changi Airport.
